Unbiased West African writer AMG/MaDigital has joined IMPEL.
It’s the first firm on the African continent to develop into a member of the worldwide collective company.
AMG/MaDigital is touted as the primary music publishing firm in West Africa, and was established with the aim of teaching African artists about publishing earnings and its alternatives, it says.
Based mostly in Ivory Coast, the corporate was based in 2020 by Dominique Gnamba.
AMG/MaDigital has signed greater than 800 writers since its formation, 90% of that are in West Africa specialising in Afrobeat.
The corporate represents various African artists together with Ks Bloom, Asaph du Ciel, Morijah, Stelair, Nitche OG and 8ll.
AMG/MaDigital’s music publishing operation sits alongside a administration arm, file label and music promotion service.
IMPEL represents digital music publishing rights, and is 100% owned and managed by its members.
Over the previous six months, the US-based music publishing administrator Regard Music, Los Angeles-based Levantine Music and Portugual-based music writer Lusitanian Music Publishing have all joined the company.
